Water Logged Sweater | Free Knitting Pattern and Optional Kits

Here is the Water Logged Sweater by Andrea Yetman, a beautiful free pattern showcasing our Semi-solid & Self-Striping colors !

Inspired by a wet ‘ol Newfoundland day! I had to find a way to incorporate Biscotte’s Self-Striping Yarn into a sweater. Gris-Gris for a grey day, a motif of raindrops for all the rain we are so well known for, and Self-Stripng yarn in Splash! If you’ve been out in the rain and slush in Newfoundland, you know all about being “water-logged.”

You have the option to purchase the pattern only or the knitting kit, which contains both the yarn and the pattern needed to knit this project!

THIS KNITTING KIT INCLUDE

• The Water Logged Sweater knitting pattern (sent as a digital pdf format) - The pattern is included when you purchase a kit.
• BISCOTTE YARNS - BIS-SOCK [85% merino wool sw, 15% nylon; 400 m per 100 g] - shown in
  • Semi-solid (main color (MC)) - 3 (3, 3, 4, 4, 5) SKEINS - in Gris-Gris for the original version and Obsession for the 2025 version
  • Semi-solid (motif (CC1)) - 1 (1, 1, 1, 1, 1) SKEIN - in Nuit for the original version and Gold for the 2025 version
  • Self-Striping (sleeves (CC2)) - 1 (1, 2, 2, 2, 2) SKEIN(S) - in Splash for the original version and Groovy for the 2025 version ***With 2 skeins of Self-Striping yarn there should be enough left to make a pair of matching socks!

IN ADDITION TO THIS KIT, YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING MATERIAL

• Circular needles 3 mm (US 2.5) - cable length of 80 cm (32”) and preferred needles for small circumference knitting - or the size required to obtain the gauge.
  
• Circular needles 2.5 mm (US 1.5) - cable length of 80 cm (32”) and preferred needles for small circumference knitting - or the size required to obtain the gauge.
• Tapestry needle
  
• Stitch markers 
• Stitch holder or scrap yarn

SIZES

XS (S, M, L, XL, 2XL)

GAUGE

28 sts and 36 rows = 10 cm (4”) using larger needles on Stockinette stitch.

NOTE

Water Logged is a circular yoke sweater knit seamless from the top down meant to be work with approximately 2-4 inches; 5-10 cm of positive ease. Featuring a motif of raindrops, this stranded colorwork is very beginner friendly. The sleeves are knit as a short sleeve, with a ribbed cuff that is NOT binded off. To look as though you are wearing a striped long sleeve shirt under your sweater, join the Self-Striping yarn after the cuff is finished and start to knit in Stockinette stitch. To see a blog post for helpful tips on stranded colorwork click HERE.
