NYMPHÉAS is the French name for a type of water lily, grown on the water for the beauty of their white, red, yellow or blue flowers. It is also the name given to a series of canvases painted by Claude Monet towards the end of his career. The theme of which was based on his flower gardens, especially the lily pads.
