Illusionist Socks | Knitting Pattern and Optional kits

This creative pattern, the Illusionist Socks, was designed by Louise Robert for the Biscotte Mystery Sock Club in November 2017. 

Entitled The Illusionist, this design creates the appearance of Fair Isle knitting—yet it’s not! The pattern employs a simple "magic trick" that involves slipping stitches in strategic places, making it easy to achieve this stunning effect. It's the perfect pattern for experimenting with self-striping yarns, resulting in a spectacular display of contrasting colors!

You have the option to purchase the pattern only or the knitting kit, which contains both the yarn and the pattern needed to knit this project!

THIS KNITTING KIT INCLUDE

• The Illusionist Socks knitting pattern (sent as a PDF numeric file) - The pattern is included when you purchase a kit.
• BISCOTTE YARNS OR PATRICKNITS SIGNATURE - BIS-SOCK [85% merino wool sw, 15% nylon; 400 m per 100 g] - 2 SKEINS - shown in
  • COLOR (A) | 1X SELF-STRIPPING - shown in Chambre des secrets
  • COLOR (B) | 1X SEMI-SOLID - shown in Hallowgreen

IN ADDITION TO THIS KIT, YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING MATERIAL

• Circular needles or DPN of 2.5 mm (US 1.5) - or size required to obtain the gauge.
  
• Tapestry needle

SIZES - ADULT

Circumference: S/M (L/XL).
Foot length is adjustable.

GAUGE

32 stitches = 10 cm; 4" in stockinette stitch.

NOTE

This pattern can be worked with a set of 5 double-pointed needles or circular needles. For double-pointed needles, please divide half the stitches on needles 1 and 2, and the other half on needles 3 and 4.
