Empire - Shawl kit

This beautiful pattern is knitted with a Paintbox and a Bis-Sock speckled yarn.

This knitting kit includes the pattern and the following yarns:

• KIT 1 : PAINTBOX** Como la flor + Bis-Sock* Bora Bora (100 g)
• KIT 2 : PAINTBOX** Falling in Love + Bis-Sock* Festival (100 g)
• Kit 3 : Bis-Sock* (50 g) Poudreuse, Aqua, Turquoise, Azure, Denim, Nuit + Impression Sunrise (100 g)

In addition to this kit, you will need the following material :

• 3,5 mm Circular needles, with a 100 cm; 40″ cable or more (or the needle size needed to obtain gauge). *Circular needle and the cable lentgh is recommended to fit all the stitches but the shawl will be worked back and forth.
• Stitch marker
• Tapestry needle

GAUGE: 24 sts = 10 cm in garter stitch after blocking.

Rectangular patterns

When working rectangular patterns, a 2^nd ball of your main color should be added at the end of the first row. To create this little ball of yarn, use the other end of your ball of yarn; you will need approximathly75 cm/ 30 "yarn.

When you have to change color in a row, make sure to cross the yarns on the back of the work (as in the Intarsia technique)

Slipped stitches

When working sections with rectangular patterns and INCA patterns, you will be asked to slip stitches. These stitches are always slipped purlwise, placing the yarn behind work for RS rows and in front work for WS rows. Also, make sure not to tighten your work too much when you slip the stitches: this will result in a gathered effect of the work which is not desired.
